The Study Of "Bi Jiao" Kind Of Degree Adverbs

This paper was based on the analysis of real corpora. Under the guidance of the "three-plane" theory, discourse linguistics, grammaticalization theory and cognitive linguistics, We explored and analysed the grammatical function, textual function, grammaticalization path and motivation, and the internal differences,whose purpose of us is to understand generality and difference of "BiJiao" kind of degree adverbs in many aspects and to try to explore their causes. The thesis consists of six parts:The first part is the introduction. This introduction generalized the study of predecessors, and made some comments, at the same time, it defined the concept of "BiJiao" kind of degree adverbs, and narrated the research idea of this article, research methods and the sources of corpus.The second part is grammatical function of "BiJiao" kind of degree adverbs. This chapter mainly described the syntax function, combinational function and extensional function of "BiJiao" kind of degree adverbs. In terms of syntactic function, we inspected the syntactic functions of "BiJiao" kind of degree adverbs and inspected the syntactic functions of the phrases which combined with their modifiers. In combinational function, our task was to investigate the selectivity of VP, AP and NP. In extensional function, our task was to analysis three kind of extensional phenomenas of "BiJiao" kind of degree adverbs +stative adjective, "BiJiao" kind of degree adverbs + "de" +AP/VP, "BiJiao" kind of degree adverbs +negative structures.The third part is the textual functions of "BiJiao" kind of degree adverbs. Thischapter examined the flexibility of size of four "BiJiao" kind of degree adverbs, and based on the specific corpus, we analyzed the cohesional functions and consistent functions in discourse of the phrase which "BiJiao" kind of degree adverbs combined with their modifiers.The fourth part is the grammaticalizational path and reasons of "BiJiao" kind of degree adverbs. This chapter described the lexicalizational or grammaticalizational path of "Jiao,BiJiao,JiaoWei" and explored their lexicalizational or grammaticalizational reasons.The fifth part is the internal differences of comparison of "BiJiao" kind of degree adverbs. This chapter contrasted "BiJiao" kind of degree adverbs from the angles of the difference of speech and function, which bases were synchronic and diachronic analysis of "BiJiao" kind of degree adverbs.The last part is the conclusion of the thesis. We pointed out the deficiency of this thesis and looked back on some main ideas in the essay.
