The Development Of Marimba Music Art In Twentieth Century

Marimba is the unique charm of modern instruments, also a member of the orchestra is indispensable. As a percussion instrument, it has a long history and numerous musicians have made significant contributions to its current form and development. Especially in the 20 th Century, the development of marimba took place rapidly.This article is composed based on my Graduation Concert preparation stage,many years on marimba playing skills learning achievements, and the deep research according to the development of Marimba in the 20 th century in the performing arts.The main body of this article consist of analysis of several repertoires which involves marimba as part of the performance. At the same time through the research on the development of the marimba, individual performing skills would be further improved,and the understanding of classic marimba repertoire would be greatly enhanced as well.
