:The study of acculturation originatedfrom the focus on the issues of immigrants that living in western society. Most of the domestic acculturation studies takes the foreign students as the investigation objects, and mainly study the acculturation status of them and other relative factors. But the comparison studies which on the perspective of Preference and Adoption were absent, so did the studies of the strategies that adopted by the host-cultural groups in the acculturation progress. This thesis design the scales and questionnaire which based on Berry’s Acculturation Strategy and composed with some parts of the HSK6-1001. The thesis investigated 30 advanced Chinese language proficiency students including that who have been studied in China for a few years andthe students who came from the three universities that the author have been to. The survey found out that:(1) The Means of the strategies on Adoption are lower than the Means of the strategies on Preference, which implies that there are differences between the strategies on Preference and Adoption. (2) It is significant correlate on the 0.05 level between the test performance and the difference of assimilation on Adoption and Preference, and the Pearson Correlation Coefficient is 0.362, which suggested that there is a significant correlation between the language acquisition proficiency of testees and the difference of Preference and Adoption. (3) The Pearson Correlation Coefficient of the testee’s grades and the acculturation strategies of the host-cultural groups is lower than 0.4, which means a weak correlation. However, when the author divided all the testees into groups by their test performance to reinvestigate the correlation status between the test performance and the acculturation strategies of the host-cultural groups, it showed that there are differences between different levels testees, even though they chose the same acculturation strategy. Therefore, the acculturation strategies that adopted by the host-cultural groups can influence the language acquisition proficiency of the foreign students.Basing on the investigation survey, the author considered that the focus of the cultural teaching objectives should transform from the declarative knowledge teaching to the procedural knowledge teaching. It will enhance the improvement of the ability to adopt Integration strategy to cope with acculturation and the language acquisition proficiency of the foreign students by setting critical thinking items to train the intercultural sensitivity of the foreign students.
