Night is the most important work of Elie Wiesel and the Classic of holocaust literature.Subversion and rewrite are key for the Interpretation of the ethical relationship in Night, which are also the Entry point for this thesis to elucidate Night. This paper holds the view that Night subverts the tradition in three ways:Firstly,It twists the Judaism Canon. It rewrites the chapter of Holy Bible named Exodus,Genesis. Also, Night challenges explanations of the relationship between Human and God in Torah and Midrash. Furthermore, Night overturns the family ethics and individual Life values of traditional Humanism. Finally, Night oversets the Thanatopsis in Germanic romanticism and the pattern of traditional Bildungsroman. The Subversions of traditions in Night do NOT bring the rebirth. On the contrary, they lead to Nihility. In discussion, this paper starts the analysis from the crisis of relationship, namely, the Crisis of father-child relationship, the Crisis of Faith, the Crisis of self-identity. The principal line of this paper goes as follow:Viewed from the father-child relationship, it rewrites the "Abraham Tested" in Genesis; Viewed from the God-Jew relationship,it rewrites Exodus; Viewed from the self-identity of the author,it rewrites Germanic Bildungsroman. Furthermore,The crisis of faith is the emphasis of this paper, it is fundamental in all the crises discussed. The Concentration Camp queries Theodicy, and the mutual commitment between God and Jewish people in Judaism. Therefore, the faith of Elie Wiesel in Judaism is in the contradiction of Conversion and revolt. Since Night has been devoted to reconcile Auschwitz with Judaism, it is the "poetics of memory and justice"...
