In Chinese history, Wei and Jin Dynasties are not only transition of Han and Tang civilization, but also the critical period that inherited and developed art and culture. Its turbulent social background brought revolution in all aspects. The transition to mysterious thinking from Confucian thinking, as well as the political and cultural transformation (which was represented by the development of literal culture) both contributed to the great social change in that period. Externally people became more graceful and refined; internally people preferred joy and talent. These new characters made the aesthetic appreciation to focus more on beauty and love.NvYue Kabuki dancer, generally refers to the staff that performs music and dance to upper social class. The royal family usually employs them. They belong to the royal dancing crew. Until Wei and Jin, the rise of aristocrats make clans and cultural development the mainstream fashion, accordingly, the NvYue Kabuki dancers-which are named "family Kabuki" came into being. It became a private possession and was more specialized. Because of the change in aesthetic appreciation trend in Wei and Jin Dynasties, NvYue Kabuki dance also presents its own unique characters in the dance moves and aesthetic style. The writer chose this particular period from Wei and Jin Dynasties to explore more on NvYue Kabuki dance based on the unique character.Of course, the study of specific historical period is not only to promote a comprehensive vision, more importantly, to provide the fullest possible information to build contemporary dance, and to bring a little inspiration for the contemporary dance choreography. Thus the focus is mainly on Wei and Jin NvYue Kabuki dance.
