With the advent of the new era, the art of sculpture, as a kind of space art with three-dimensional existence, not only changes in space, but also the creation of the concept of adjustment. Contemporary sculpture art mix into people’s daily life, make the dialogue with the public which has been a norm everywhere. However, make the sculpture with contemporary value is not simple. As the contemporary sculpture artists, only has the in-depth experience of the spiritual connotation of traditional Chinese sculpture, can better absorb and understand the modeling language features of Chinese ancient traditional sculpture, and then applied to the creative practice, only that they can beyond mediocrity, touch the viewer, cause the viewer in the spirit of the resonance. Therefore the purpose of this paper is mainly to explore again on the basis of Chinese ancient traditional sculpture modeling language features, explore the relation between inheritance and development of ancient traditional sculpture and modern sculpture, put the traditional sculpture modeling language features used in the theory, The experience and comprehension to the aesthetic connotation of Chinese traditional art will be applied in creative practice, and present the work’s innovation and unique.
