Under Affective Picture Difference Between Emotion Recognition And Response:an ERP Study

Emotional pictures materials are the most commonly used emotional induced experimental materials. The current research about emotional pictures material itself is limited to the self-report method. In the process of emotional evoked, the participants understand or guess the purpose of experiment, so test subjects usually will not push a mood change itself, but in order to conform to the expectations of the experiment, many people do not hesitate to write a false report. This is a common bias in self-reported patterns. Researchers have debated whether or not the emotional image of the material can be evoked by different individuals.This study believes that when the emotional picture induced mood, the subject has two kinds of subjects. One is judge emotions pictures valence, called recognize emotions. The other not only identifies the emotional valence of the image, but also is influenced by the emotional information, producing similar emotions, called emotional Feelings. As a result, participants were divided into group of emotion recognition and group of emotion response. The emotion recognition team picks out the emotional pictures that they can only recognize the emotional valence. Then elected by emotion group pick up above in the picture can not only recognize emotions valence, but can Feel the mood of pictures as the experimental material. Types of experiments using subjects (emotion recognition, emotion response)*emotional valence (positive, negative) of 2*2 mixed design of experiment, the subjects types as factors between subjects, emotional valence factors as subjects, the application of ERP technology images evoked emotions to the mood different subjects differences are expounded. Experimental results show that the 250-850ms each time window, under the positive emotion, emotion recognition and emotion response group had significant difference;under negative emotions, there was no significant difference between emotion recognition and emotion response group.Conclusion:although standard affective pictures can effectively induce emotional, but this kind of emotion really confusing the emotion recognition and emotion response. Under the positive emotion, emotion recognition and emotion response is different; under the negative emotion, emotion recognition and emotion response there is no difference; regardless of emotion recognition or emotion, differences between positive emotions and negative emotions.
