GeorgiaO ’Keeffe’s was honoured as the most important paintress in the American history, occupying an significant positon in the contemporary art. Her enthusiasm of art extend her whole life. The works of different periods have strong autobiography which all express her feeling and call from the deep inside.Her paintings are full of symbolic significance that the feminine flora paintings are most representative. O’Keeffe Constantly tries new subjects during her lifetime, from the Abstract geometric painting of the very beginning to the flora painting of the maturation period as well as the skyscrapers city style, from the westen desert painting of the late stage to the minimalist style of her old age. Her productions are with strongly originality forming her own art language. She is morden and also contemporary.This essay will focus on analysing O’Keeffe’s art of painting from the perspectives of art style, painting appearance and features in different periods.Due to the varied factors, the painting style of O’Keeffe has been changed in each period. The most representative artwork of O’Keeffe is flower paintings with metaphorical colour. However, numerous contents what O’Keeffe presented by painting have been ignored by audience, because the part of sexual metaphor used to being overly emphasized in most of her paintings. Accordingly, this essay will not limited to the analyses of single aspect of flowers, whereas it will explore the secrets that how O’Keeffe’s art can be kept youth from the analysis of different periods’artwork. Furthermore, the research of O’Keeffe’s unique painting language plays a significant role in exploring her artwork. Comparing with other artists, it will be more obvious to identify the unique of O’Keeffe’s art. It is worth for researchers to identify the symbolic, mystery and unique expression perspective of her artwork. Finally, O’Keeffe has great influences on later art lovers whom are respected artists nowadays including Japanese-contemporary artist, Yayoi Kusama and many others.
