As document, family instructions have three attributes of history, literature as well as education. In terms of education, it prompts us to pursue the better ourselves and shapes our character and behavior, through which, the ancient and mellow exhortation is endless; in terms of literature, family instructions are the carrier of outstanding culture, who carry the soul of years of civilization walking in the hearts of people; in terms of historical science, it is the gift of history which gives us different information.Based on the historical research and combining with the literary and educational function, the first part of this artical elaborates and defines the background and connotation of family instructions. The second part firstly analyzes the document and generalizes the main content of family instructions, including the thoughts of "running away from calamity" and the mixed thoughts of Confucianism Buddhism and Taoism; secondly, from the change of family instructions’quantity and the compare of quantity and system between the northern family instructions and the southern one, we conclude that the northern family instructions are better than the southern one; thirdly, it analyzes the features of family instructions which is regarded as the main way of family education that include affectivity, substantivity, operability as well as the weaker gradability,and so on, combining the literary attribute of family instructions with it’s content, and additionally, the acceptable degree of family instructions is higher and higher with the enhancement of recognition level of family instructions. In the third part, by analyzing minority’s family instructions and female family instructions, we think that the minorities absorb Chinese Culture as well as the minority’s culture attacks Chinese Culture that contributes to the emergence of another writer played by the minority, and the ingrained feudal thoughts lead to the change of the demand for the female. In the forth part, combining the instrumentality of family instruction’s educational attribute and assisted by the political environment then, it explores the delicate relationship among family instructions, family tradition and politics, by which, we think that the development of family instructions and the form of family tradition are complementary to each other and promote each other; family instructions and family tradition have a positive or negative influence on the family’s political status as well as the development of official career, which confirms the importance of culture for the development of family.The development of family instructions are affected by the age, and guide the family’s development at the same time. We should realize that the school education and social education are incomparable to family education combining the current craze for traditional Chinese culture as well as the trend of weakening family education in the process of personal growth; in the modern society, we should absorb the essence of the tradition, and then promotes our nation’s progress.
