Along with the Internet thrive, it provides a new platform for bullying, that is cyberbullying. Many people become victims of cyberbullying, and more and more people witness cyberbullying. A growing number of Internet users witnessed the occurrence of cyberbullying, they sometimes joined the bully. Cyberbullying bystanders’s attitudes and behaviors towards cyberbullying often impact the victims negatively. Because of its practical value, the present research we explore those questions:what is the protect factors on cyberbullying bystanders’ helping behavior and its mechanism. This paper has carried out the following three studies:Based on experiment method, study 1 collected the scene experiment data in Hubei province in China, getting a sample of 66 individuals. After a t test and variance analysis, the results showed that when the event is serious, bystanders have more willing to help female. Moreover, when the event is serious, participants who haven’t suffered cyberbullying have more willing to help victims.Based on the study 1, study 2 collected the scene experiment data in Hubei province in China, getting a sample of 150 high school students of a middle school. After a t test and variance analysis, the results showed that compared to the victims with inappropriate behavior, when the participants suffer cyberbullying due to their characteristics, bystanders have more willing to help. And,comparing to the passive reactions, when victims choose active or reactive actions(fight back, stop the bully, turn to help), bystanders will have more willing to help.Study 3 went on to explore its potential mediate effect between reactions of victims and bystanders’ helping intention 172 postgraduates participated in this study. After controlling unrelated variables, perceived responsibility played partial mediate effect between reaction of victim and bystanders’ helping intention. When the victims turn to help after cyberbullying, the bystanders perceived higher responsibility, the more his willing to help.Through the three research, the conclusion is a reminder that it is necessary to focus on guiding teenagers reasonably behave in social networking sites, as well as training teenagers the appropriate reaction after cyberbullying in order to get more supports.
