Research On Application Of The Decoration Style Of Art Nouveau On Illustration

Art Nouveau is Decorative Art movement which developed in Europe and the United States at end of the 19 th century, popular time was from 1880 to 1910. It is related to product design, graphic design, illustration, fashion design, sculpture, painting, in various area of art, and its popular Art Nouveau is adored by the masses, its influence is broad and lasting and it has far-reaching historical value and practical significance.This paper regards decoration language of Art Nouveau as entry point, aims at researching the application of decorative elements with Art Nouveau. This paper explores the application of decorative elements with Art Nouveau by analyzing artistic characteristics of illustration of Art Nouveau, including subject, composition, shape, color and decorative language of the work, discover that the design reform and life meaning involved in this totally surpass the external form feeling brought by this style, thus improving to the level of promoting design thinking development. At combing with the illustration of the author with Art Nouveau, apply the form pattern of the decoration elements of the Art Nouveau style into the illustration creation, the main expression is that the inherent thinking mode of color, line and material application in the previous drawing is broken, and new design methods are summed up. So that the Art Nouveau blends into commercial illustration design to apply the knowledge. Art Nouveau as a representative form of classic decoration style transforming to modern decoration style provides us reference for the expression form on illustration creation.Art Nouveau is constantly mentioned and taken into account, as style trend changing from old fashion to new fashion, which not only provides a new perspective to the research and creation of decorative arts, and more importantly, provide references on creative forms and creative ideas for us.
