With the deepening of globalization, One Belt One Road region will be the major overseas market for China’s future economic development, culture exportation and foreign diplomacy. Under this backdrop, interpreters are facing both opportunities and challenges. Because the business activities such as business cooperation, negotiation, communication, under this background, have comprehensive purposes, in which there lies economic interests as well as cultural and diplomatic considerations. Interpreter is not only the bridge for communication between different languages and cultures, but also coordinator and promoter serving different purposes by applying specific interpretation strategies in certain occasions. The paper discusses how the interpretation strategy under Skopos Theory is able to help succeed in the business negotiation, cooperation and communication during the cross-border investment and Mergers and Acquisitions(M&A) process under the One Belt One Road Initiative background. The paper intends to prove that business interpreting strategies’ application guided by the Skopos theory is able to largely meet the needs of business interests and culture diplomacy purpose in the cross-border investment and M&A of Chinese enterprises.
