A Research On The Influence Of Personality Bisexuality To The Face Dimorphism

Face dimorphism is the external performance of amphoteric physiological differences in facial features, it is one of the factors that influence facial attractiveness. There is no consistent conclusion about which dimorphic cue of face is more popular among the humans, both sides have different theories, as well as controversial research methodology. The preferences of face with sexual dimorphism cues not only affected by the face stimulus itself, but also associated with the subjects of their own personality traits, of which personality bisexuality is a description of personality traits. Personality bisexuality is getting more and more attention in recent years, on the basis of traditional gender role model, it put forward androgyny personality, which has the personality traits of both masculine and feminine.The purpose of this study is to explore whether the personality bisexuality will affect the participants’preference of faces with sexual dimorphism cues. In the experiment, we use the Paradigm of Affect Misattribution Procedure to measure subjects’implicit attitude, they need to complete the questionnaire about the personality androgyny, after then, they need to score the faces with sexual dimorphism cues in both implicit test and explicit test. In the implicit test, the subjects’attitude toward the faces is expressed through the score of the meaningless pictures. Through the statistical analysing of the datas, we can get the following conclusions:In the distribution of personality, according to the distribution ratio of the sort from high in the end, it is followed by the androgynous, undifferentiated, masculine and feminine. There were no significant differences in male and female subjects of this distribution pattem.About the influence of the dimorphism clues to the facial attractiveness, in the condition of the perceived masculine technology, when masking the non-face-cues, the feminine female face is more popular than other female faces, as well as the masculine male face. And there were no significant differences in implicit and explicit test of conclusion.The personality bisexuality will indeed have an impact on the preference of face, especially in the masculine male face, which is most popular during the androgynous participants. Male subjects with more significant male traits will prefer the feminine female face and the masculine male face. Also, the female subjects with more significant female traits will prefer the masculine male face.From these we can see that, people’s aesthetic tendency is closed to the traditional definition of beauty, the more consistent with their own sex of the facial features, the more popular they will be among the humans, especially among the members of the opposite sex. And this kind of love is influenced by the personality bisexuality of the subjects, there shows complementary effect between the personality and the face preference.
