In order to combine the reality of reading comprehension and the importance of lexical access on individual obtaining meaningful words, this study investigates semantic accessibility of key words during sentential comprehension. The traditional theory about sentence processing suggests that syntactic and semantic analysis is different processes, and the ERP-related researches have shown that syntactic processing and semantic processing are independently represented. According to the semantic P600 findings discovered in recent years, we assumes that the ERPs occur during the processing of different sentences will be regulated by the binding modeof automatic processing and controlled processing. This study has been designed for this issue based on ERP means with two factors mixed experiments:First, the subjects are classified according to the working memory refresh function (high and low) into two groups; second, different types of sentences (correct, antisense, and unrelated) are composed as experimental materials, and they are divided into single words and presented word by word. Thebehavior and EEG data will be recorded for offline analysis whiles the participants doing experimental task. The results show that:as for N400, the main effect of sentence types is significant by both of midline and lateral electrodes analysis, the average amplitude under three experimental conditions:the correct sentence<antisense sentence<unrelated sentence. As for P600, the main effect of sentence types is also significant by both kinds of electrodesanalysis:the amplitudes elicited by antisense sentence are significantly greater than the correct sentence. Besides, the main effect ofgroup is marginally significant, the amplitudes elicited by high working memory refresh function group are greater than the low’s.Finally, we summarize the following conclusions:the innovative semantic anomalies composed by using an antisense verb can elicit the N400-P600dual effect, demonstrating the existence of dual processing during sentence comprehension; there is a trend that the reader’s working memory refresh function has an impact on dual-process model during reading comprehension.
