Chu Guangxi, according to the research, he is from Runzhou Yanling, but still, we don’t know his date of birth, neither the date of death. Chu Guangxi is known for his mass of pastoral poetry, 227 of existing works, pastoral poetry has 128. His creation has made important contributions to the development of landscape and pastoral poetry.Chu passed the highest imperial examination in the 14th year of Kaiyuan. He had been an officer through Fengyi,Sishui,Anyi,Xiagui counties.Because of the unsatisfying position,he brought up resignation and decided to live in seclusion. After he lived in seclusion in Zhongnanshan,he began to write mass of landscape and pastoral poems, using the same rhythm as Wang Wei,Qi Wuqian,Peidi did.Later on he once had been Taizhu,(A kind of official position in ancient China.)and then he was promoted to Jianchayushi,(A kind of official position in ancient China.)In the14th year of Tianbao,An Lushan Rebellion was launched,Chu and Wang Wei and the others were arrested by An Lushan,Chu was given a false position. After the recovery of Chang An,Chu was prison because of he had been an officer of a false position. The new version and the old version of Tangshu《唐书》only have a very simple introduction of Chu’s life time.Jianchayushichugongjixu《监察御史储公集序》by Gukuang, has introduced the date he passed the highest imperial examination and his achievements in literature, and the experience of his late year being given a false position and the relationship with Wang Wei,Jianchayushichugongjixu《监察御史储公集序》by Gukuang is the most elaborate historical book of introducing Chu.YinFan of Tang Dynasty had written Heyueyinglingji《河岳英灵集》and Danyangji《丹阳集》both of them have selected some Chu’s poems, and analyze Chu’s creation in details, giving a high rating of his creation.Above are existing materials of Tang dynasty introducing Chu’s poetry,by carefully inspected,we can see that Chu’s poetry is representative in Tang dynasty. With the deeper study of Tang poetry in the Song dynasty, there has been a lot of discussion about the artistic characteristics of poetry, poetry of poetry skills. But at the same time, with the Lixue(a Confucian school of idealist philosophy of the Song and Ming Dynasties)had rising, completely different from Tang dynasty’s social and cultural awareness had come up,had influenced scholars’attitudes in the Song dynasty to the Tang poetry. In the Song dynasty, the evaluation of Chu’s poetry are mainly the Wenyuanyinghua《文苑英华》,and the Tangbaijiashixuan《唐百家诗选》and the Luanchengyiyan《栾城遗言》,these documents have noticed that Chu’s poetry artistic features of landscape and pastoral poetry, which the focus is different from Tang dynasty’s view.Generally,Jin and Yuan dynasty poetry theory do not have a break through the previous dynasty.Study of Tang poetry in the late Yuan and early Ming dynasty gradually prospered, came up many poetry theorists, produced abundant of Tang poetry selected books and pamphlets, the authors’focus turned to poetry and artistic concerns, instead of the poet’s experience, which makes a lot of improvement of the acceptance of Chu Guangxi. The most detailed material of Chu’s poetry in this period was found in Tangyin《唐音》compiled by Yang Shihong who was born in late Yuan and early Ming, which has recognized the artistic achievements of Chu’s poetry, and improved Chu’s status in five-character creation.Since then,Gu Lin,Gao Bing,Tang Ruxun of Ming dynasty, whose acceptance to Chu’s poetry is based on this.In the late Ming dynasty,Tangshigui《唐诗'》compiled by Zhong Xing,Tan Yuanchun and Tangshijing《唐诗镜》complied by Lu Shiyong is different from other anthologies in the acceptance of Chu’s poetry, both of these two anthologies were effected by"spirit tales",paying more attention to the poet’s personality and charm of the work, but the Tangshigui《唐诗'》has the far-reaching effects.Nevertheless, there are still large differences in selected poems between the two,Tangshigui《唐诗'》gives a great deal of recognition to Chu’poetry, while the Tangshijing《唐诗镜》is a complete denial of positive assessment of Chu’s poetry, which has a total different attitude from the previous anthology.Tang poetry research is still flourishing in Qing dynasty, many scholars have sorted Tang poetry according to their notions to the poetry, the anthologies of Tang poetry is rich in quantity and variety.Due to the differences of poetics,In the Qing dynasty, the anthologies of Tang poetry is also more diverse in compiling purpose.Tangshipingxuan《唐诗评选》by Wang Fuzhi comments Chu’s poetry on the basis of previous comments, while further improving Chu’s status of five-character poems,he was tied with Li Bai,Wei Yingwu,as representatives of the five-charater poems of Tang dynasty. After Tangshipingxuan《唐诗评选》,both Tangxiansanweiji《唐贤三昧集》and Tangshibiecaiji《唐诗别裁集》are representative anthologies of poetry, respectively promotion of"Verve"and"Style",the acceptance to Chu’s poetry is not focused on a particular genre and instead of that, they focus on the artistic characteristics of poetry.Tangxiansanweiji《唐贤三昧集》is contrary to the previous anthology,it removed all the pastoral poems of Chu’s poetry and replaced with Wang Wei’s parting songs and toasting songs,it is a unique phenomenon in Qing dynasty of the acceptance to Chu’s poetry,Wang Shizhen has also shown his unique poetics in the process of the acceptance to Chu’s poetry. In the late Qing dynasty,Tangshixuan《唐诗选》by Wang Kaiyun has the most Chu’s poetry anthologies, selected poems are still dominated by archaic poems, accompanied with comments of several articles,it has more concerns on Chu Guangxi poetry’s relationship with his teacher and artistic achievements, and it plays an important role in further artistic interpretation of Chu’s poetry.Through deep studies of the acceptance of Chu’s poetry, we can see that Chu has made a great achievement in poetry creation as one of poets of the prosperous Tang dynasty. Due to the social awareness of cultural differences in different periods, the acceptance to Chu’s poetry could be also different. By comparison, the highest status and historical period of Chu’s poetry would be undoubtedly in Tang dynasty. While in the Song dynasty, Chu Guangxi’s poems were lost in his personal integrity questioned. But overall, the acceptance of the poetry of Chu Guangxi during Ming and Qing dynasties have further breakthroughs than the Tang and Song dynasties, and the study is also more refined, and has provided valuable experience for further study on Chu Guangxi’s poetry.
