A Report On The Translation Of China: Fragile Superpower

China: Fragile Superpower was chosen for this translation practice because China’s rise may be the most important issue all over the world politics in the 21 st century. As all rising countries in history, China has been confronted with various opportunities and challenges during the process of fast development. And the direction of China’s peaceful rise with China’s features has a big influence in the world’s peace. So it’s crucial for all the human beings to learn the politics of China and anxieties of China’s leadership as well as the relations between America and China, the greatest country in the world and the new rising star in the world stage. Susan L. Shirk, a former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, knows many of China’s rulers and understands the situation of China. She offers original opinions on China’s policies from the view of China’s leaders with vivid description and extensive quotations. Some opinions are not fair enough, but most of them are constructive.Because of the work’s characteristics, there are two obvious problems during the process of translation,including the confusion about translator’s role and the issues about translation skills.
