Lenin’s Indoctrination Theory is a method and principle that the inculcationsubject(Social Democrats)adopted scientific methods to inspire the instilledobject (the working class)’s political consciousness, guided themunderstanding and learning of Marx’s world view and methodology when theinstilled object cannot spontaneously produce scientific socialism andadvanced political awareness. The aim is to improve the object’s ideologicaland moral cultivation and political theory quality. In the ideological andpolitical education, Lenin’s Indoctrination Theory is the instillation method’ssupport and one of the important contents of Marx instillation theory in theideological and political education. However, in recent years, some peoplequestioned even deny its scientificalness. Therefore, it has great theoreticalsignificance and practical value to clarify its scientific connotation and theessence,to reveal the guiding value in the new historical conditions and tofind out its methed of enhancing the effectiveness of the education.This paper consists of four chapters, the first chapter is divided into twoparts, firstly, combs three relative and important characters’ thoughts, they areCï¹'Kautsky, Marx and Engels. The aim is to show that their thoughts havelaid an important foundation to Lenin’s indoctrination. Secondly, discuss thetheory’s historical background, namely the Russian Social DemocraticOrganization led by the masses of the workers’ movement is relatively active,the dispersion and spontaneity of the workers movement existent universally,the workers’ thought is in chaos, the economic perspective is in vogue in thesocialist movement. The second chapter is divided into two parts. One iselaborating the scientific connotation of Lenin’s Indoctrination Theory fromthree aspects. The second is a summary of the spirit essence, pointed out thatthe theory is not only a method, but a principle. The third chapter, evaluateLenin’s Indoctrination Theory from two aspects, namely its historical contributions and its limitations of the times. In the historical contribution,expounds Lenin’s Indoctrination Theory had played an important role in itsideological propaganda, the practice of revolution and the ideological andpolitical education effectively etc. At the same time, points out the limitationfrom four aspects of the subject, the object, the content, the method and theenvironment. The fourth chapter, Describes the contemporary value of Lenin’sIndoctrination Theory from three aspects namely extending indoctrinationcontents, change the infusion method and improvement of instillingenvironmental.
