An Analysis On The Confliction Of Southern Thailand Under The Thaksin Governance

The confliction of Southern Thailand national separatism movementhas seriously damaged the national and regional security and stability.The conflict under the Thaksin governance is more dramatic and seriousthan that of1932-1992. This paper, is to analyze the not of the conflictionof Southern Thailand,with the views of political trust and nationalidentity.There are four parts.Part one is about the origin of the confliction of Southern Thailand.The conflict has been for a long time. It divided into three typical periodsaccording to the different stages: the first one is a negative resistanceperiod(1902-1932). This period was mainly to gain the economic andcultural interests in the Southern. The second one is a violent againstperiod(1932-the20thcentury). The characteristics are in violent armed.The last one is a terrorism period(since the21stcentury). It shows thenatures of terrorism.Part two states the Thaksin new policy and the policy of theSouthern Thailand. It analyzes the inner relationship, with the views ofeconomy, politics, education and religion,between the Thaksin new policyand the conflict of Southern Thai.Part three mainly discusses the reasons of the conflict of theSouthern Thailand under the Thaksin governance. It analyzes the conflict which existed in the crack between the authoritarian politics and politicsdemocratization from the perspectives of political trust and ethnic identity.Because of the structural limitation of Thailand politicsand socialdevelopment in Thaksin period, the interests barrier exists between theMuslim society of the Southern and the mainstream society.Part four discusses the path to solve the conflict Thai. It presentssome corresponding possible paths to solve the conflict with theperspectives of the plurality of the state power and the opening interests.
