A content analysis of the reports of the Korea Times was conducted toinvestigate the national image of North Korea shaped by these reports.A total of432sample reports were analyzed from the aspects ofthemes, favorability, lengths and pictures conditions under the theoreticalfoundation of state image theory and framing theory and with themethodological support of content analysis and critical discourse analysis.With the help of statistical techniques and through the quantitativeand qualitative analysis of the final data, the results and findings of theresearch showed the political, economic, cultural, military and social lifeimages of North Korea.The research findings show that the Korea times shaped a rogue statenational image of North Korea, which politically lacked of democracy andthe dictatorship of the ruling class, and the dilapidated economy withfeatures of poverty, the low degree of opening, and the miserable livingsituation of people. The human rights condition was also generally grim,and militarily, the North Korean government and authorities defiedinternational public opinion to conduct repeatedly the nuclear test andprovoked frequently regardless of the regional peace and stability throughthe political, economic, human rights and military frames.
