The Emerging,Maintenance And Evolution Of Rural Elite In A Yao Village Of South Yunnan

This paper takes more than30years of reform and opening-up policy of rural social development as the background, with the case study of a Yao village in the border of south Yunnan. Presents the emerging, and the maintenance of different rural elite in different eras, detailed analyzed the role and the function of rural elites in different periods with the development of socio-economic, then explained the local logic of emerging, maintenance and evolution of rural elite in this village.This study used qualitative research methods, Field Research a Yao village called shangpinghe in the border of Yunnan-Vietnam, in the form of case study, researched the life trajectories and the public action of three rural elite who are from two families, then investigated how they established and maintained they authority in different times. Meanwhile, the relevant literatures are analyzed in detail by literature research.This paper is divided into six parts. The first part is introduction and review. The second part is to make a detailed presentation the background of this village. The third to fifth parts with the more than30years reform and opening-up policy of social development as the background, presents the emerging, the social action to maintain the authority and the replacement of intergenerational of three generations rural elite who are from two families, discovered the micro and macro elements which can be impact the emerging of the elite, then discussed the role and functions of rural elite in the village in different periods. From the present and the discourse of three parts, the author found that the influence factors to emerge and to maintain authority of three rural elite, and excavated the local logic of the evolution from the change of the role of rural elite. The sixth part is a summary and reflection. In this part for a more dialed discussion about the central theme "the local logic of emerging, maintenance and evolution of rural elite in shangpinghe."of this paper, and analyzed the important role of rural elite to build the rural community and to transmit information in rural.
