Economic crime is a crime that breaches any personal or social economic resources.So, economic activity is any breach and violation of law. As it is well known, economic crimes hinder the country’s economic development and thus, resulting in a series of vicious effects, especially at the level of developing countries. In recent years, economic crime has become much more rampant and it has penetrated to social development and in turn has negatively affected it. This what makes the study of this problem of a good significance.This research aims at shedding light at economic crimes in Sudan and also showing the impact of this crime on the economy, development and stability of Sudan. Moreover, this research deals with the definition of economic crime from a global perspective and also from Sudanese law perspectives. This paper also deals with the discussion of economic crime in Sudan and the reasons for such an offense from economic and social perspectives. Furthermore, it deals with the concept of economic crime and the historical background of this crime as well as the evolution of economic crime in Sudan.In addition to addressing some of the statistics about economic crime in Sudan both in the past and recent years with an indication of some types of economic crime, according to the economic and industrial activity as well as the impact of these crimes on people and development,Along with the development of economic crimes in Sudan’s society,we can find both traditional economic crime and other modern and new crime.For these different types of crimes, there have been many measures undertaken to combat and crack down on them.Moreover, these economic crimes did not come out of the air, but there are many reasons that led to them.Among these reason,one can mention:the non-binding and disintegration of the family, school dropouts and inefficient educational role of schools and media in addition to some other social factors such as: poverty, unemployment, immigration and other economic factors. Furthermore, the study has also dealt with the impact of economic crime on the development and stability in Sudan and how economic crime led to an armed conflict in Darfur region as well as revealing and shedding the light on the negative impact of economic crime on the performance and public spending of the state.Finally, this paper is an attempt to first reveal the causes and the reasons that engender these crimes then putting forward some solutions, recommendations and suggestions that aim at putting an end or reducing such crime.
