This study is an empirical study about rural endowment issues of the elderly,trying to analyze the current problems faced by rural elderly endowment and toexplore the elderly self-endowment phenomenon to resolve the pension problems.On the basis of field research done early on, concerning the current pensionproblem under the tendency of rural population aging and social transformation, thispaper base on rural elderly to their children’s " ethical responsibility " for the analysisperspective, starting with the case study of describing the living conditions, state ofthe economy, everyday life of the pension status and the spiritual life status of therural elders from the xiaozhang village in Henan province. According to the status ofrural aged and interviews, sum up the problems of rural elderly in the pension processfaced by rural elderly and how to resolve by themselves. Finally, from the aspects ofrural social security policies and measures put forward some targeted suggestionsbased on the pension problems faced by the Aged.The study found that the responsibility of rural elderly for their children is fargreater than the obligation of their offspring for them and they get support from theirchildren is very limited. But the rural elderly as individuals of rural communities andsocial actors will use their own initiative to get the resources from their networks inorder to maintain their livelihoods. So the formulation and implementation of ruralsocial security policy, not only corresponds to the historical culture of rural society,but also think from the perspective of culture and ethic.
