Cultural properties are movable or immovable properties that are ofsignificant importance to the cultural heritage of each nation. Individuals whohave committed serious damages to cultural properties may undertakeindividual criminal liabilities therefor. However, the categories of criminalliabilities that will result in this area of international law appear not to be soclear. Therefore, this paper intends to analyze the four kinds of internationalindividual crimes established since the Nuremberg Trial and elaborate theexemption to the crime-military necessity exception and aims to present awhole picture of international law on the protection of cultural property andits future development. |
