Village self-govermance is a socialist political system with Chinese characteristics, China’s peasants choose it spontaneously under the conditions of a new era of democracy. As urbanization continues, the original rural structure and urban-rural dual system is gradually being broken, villagers’ life style has been changing, some villagers turn into urban residents, and part rural areas grow into cities and towns, which indicates the accelerating of the integration of rural and urban. However, our current village self-govermance has some difficulty in adapting to the new trend of urbanization. The main problems lie in the village committee autonomy being insufficient, the relationship of rural party branches and township governments having not been fully straightened out, and rural "elite" brain drain being accelerating. As a consequence, the factors mentioned above restrict the transformation of rural society. To resolve these problems, it is critical to follow the trend of urbanization, improve the village committee itself, clarify the relationship between the parties and safeguard villagers ’ rights, by means of taking advantage of the urbanization, and thoroughly breaking down hindering the development of villager’s autonomy system. This article’s creation involves various of research methods including empirical analysis, comparative analysis, integrating theory and practice, is based on urbanization to enrich village self-governmance theory and improve relevant systems to promote new historical changes of rural society This article not only comprehensively summarizes the problems on villager autonomy in China under the background of rural urbanization but also proposes some comprehensive and scientific measures to improve the situation, especially the suggestion on professionalizing village cadres, which is more innovative and feasible.The paper, a total of more than 34,000 words, consists of five parts: introduction, general theory, summarization of village self-governmance in the context of the countryside urbanization, existing problems of villager autonomy in the setting of urbanization and causal analysis and perfection of villager autonomy proposals under the background of Chinese urbanization.In the introduction section, the author briefly describes the topic object, background, causes and desired goals.Chapter 1 elaborates the basic theory, connotation, characteristics and development of villager autonomy laying down a basic theoretical foundation for writing the paperChapter 2 focuses on the impacts of urbanization on the villager autonomy, and the challenges posed by, including subject, content and form of the villager autonomy and related impacts.Chapter 3 focuses on the problems emerging in villager autonomy in practice, and the careful analysis of the problem, identifying the reason under the background of urbanization,.Chapter 4 based on urbanization, from the perspective between theory and practice, on the villagers made a number of sound proposals, including sorting out the relationship between the counterparts, achieving professionalization of village cadres, among other measures.
