The Comparative Study Of The Zunyi Conference And The Third Plenary Session

90 years of the Communist Party of China have gone through difficult and glorious history, during which there were many turning points. The Zunyi Conference held in 1935 and the Third Plenary Session held in 1978 are typical. The two historical turning points are important events which have meanings of landmark. Because of the two meetings, the party can get out of the woods, can go on a road of healthy development, can create a good start to win the new democratic revolution and the socialist modernization. This year is the 80 th anniversary of the Zunyi Meeting and the 37 th anniversary of the Third Plenary Session. To do the comparative study of the two significant meetings is meaningful. It is good to help boost the development of the party ideology and practice. There are both meanings of certain academic value and strong practical significance.This paper is divided into four parts:Part I: the brief introduction of Zunyi Conference and the Third Plenary Session. Through the elaborate backgrounds, the reasons of success and the meeting outcome, we can clearly review the vision how the two meetings save the Party at the turning point of the Party history.Part II: the comparison of the different points between the two meetings. By using comparative study method, we can know the different points of the two meetings. The five areas are conference background, meeting mode, age conditions, historical status and tasks.Part III: the identification of the same points between the two meetings. Zunyi Conference and the Third Plenary Session are in two different historical periods, and separated by 43 years. But this does not prevent that the two historic turning points have many similarities: the two meetings are both turning moments in the history of the Party; they two also gradually form a new leadership core and lead to a new generation of collective leadership, they are both realistic model of victory, they two insist the atmosphere of democratic; the two meetings both have corrected the “leftist” wrong line, which continually persecutes the Party.Part IV: the important implication of the party ideology and practice from the two meetings. Based on the existing research results, the two different points and the same point between the two meetings, we can know the important implication for the building ideology and practice of the current party: the Chinese national condition is the prerequisite cause for the scientific development of the socialist; the emancipation of the mind is the fundamental guarantee to uphold and develop Marxism; to make the right decision depends on the party democracy; development of the Party and the country cannot do without the correct route guidance. And this study can do good to do with the current livelihood issues, building a moderately prosperous society; to seize the opportunity of the time, adhere to a comprehensive deepening reform; to improve laws and regulations, for full rule of law; adhere to anti-corruption, strictly administering.
