The Role And Path Selection Of SCO In Regional Economic Cooperation

Shanghai Cooperation Organization has always seek the security cooperation and the political cooperation among the members, since it established. But its goals are limited in those two area, but also including realizing trade and investment facilitation and establishing a free trade area under the framework of SCO. However, when we compare it with other economic organizations in the Central Asia, we will found that SCO is too young. The way of members cooperate with each other just through bilateral or multilateral cooperation, it is still need to enhance SCO’s collective identity when make a cooperation. As ASEAN’s regional economic development is similar with Central Asia’s regional economic development, the experiences of ASEAN could be a reference to SCO. And at the same time, SCO could have the aid of the Silk Road Economic Belt to make a revolution of its own economic development, and that, promote the process of facilitation and establish a free trade zone, realize the economic integration.
