Research On Marx’s Freedom Thought

Freedom has been discussed through the history of philosophy, and it is always the interest of philosophers from ancient Greece to modern periods. But freedom has not been clearly explained until Marx tried to understand and explain the freedom problem, through his own unique theoretical perspective and on the basis of previous philosophers. This paper explains Marx’s freedom thought from following parts:Firstly, the paper discusses the detailed history of freedom before Marx theory, including freedom thought in ancient periods and in different periods of modern bourgeois. Through analyzing freedom of the past, paper clarify three questions:the definition of freedom, relationship between freedom and necessity, and the base of freedom.Secondly, the paper points out that Marx’s view on freedom problem is practice perspective view. The nature of human, from the practice perspective view, is self-conscious and free activity. On this basis, Marx criticizes philosophers such as Kant, Hegel about their idealistic view on freedom, succeeds on great surpassing of freedom thought, which finally becomes Marx’s freedom thought.Thirdly, the paper discusses about nature of freedom in detail, including the connotation of freedom, liberty dimensions and dialectical relationship between freedom and necessity. From Marx’s view, freedom can be realized during the process of interaction between subject and object, and it is specific and historical.Fourthly, the paper points out that the application of Marx’s freedom thought is to put human’s free and all-side development into the target value development system of the society, and focus on the practice path to achieve the target value. Communism movement is the process of human’s freedom and liberation.Finally, the paper summarizes the contemporary value of Marx’s freedom thought. Through Marx’s criticize and absorption of contemporary freedom thought from the theoretical view of Marx’s freedom thought, the paper has a guidance on China’s politic, economy, and culture building. Marx’s freedom thought has a significant meaning for our harmonious socialist society building. And by connecting democratic politic building, socialist market economy building, socialist core values, and other hot issues like China dream, the paper proposes the path and summaries significance of the socialist harmonious society building.
