Study On Farmers’ Scientific Literacy From The Perspective Of Agricultural Modernization

Farmers are the main body of agricultural modernization, and agricultural modernization is a process of transformation from traditional agriculture to modern agriculture, is an agricultural production and operation process of farmers using the modern agricultural science and technology. In the process, modern agricultural science and technology are the basic power of agricultural modernization, farmers is main body to realize the transformation. At present, the main obstacle to rural development in our country is the low quality of farmer’s science and technology cultural, which has already become an important limiting factor for Chinese agricultural modernization realization. In view of this, we should have an overall grasp and understanding to the current situation of the farmers’ scientific literacy, find out the main bottleneck restricting factors, put forward the effective solutions to improve farmers’ scientific literacy.This study was based on the understanding of scientific literacy, expounded the meaning of scientific literacy for the peasants:farmer’s understanding of modern agricultural science, farmer’s cognitive ability of modern agricultural science and technology, the ability to accept and grasp of modern agricultural science and technology, the ability of transformation agricultural science and technology achievements into productivity. Meanwhile, this study redefined the connotation of agricultural modernization according to the new situation：agricultural modernization set supplying agricultural products, increasing farmer’s income, promoting the sustainable development as the goal, in the way of improving agricultural labor productivity, supported by modern science and technology, equipment and management, to build modern agricultural industry system, new type of agricultural management system, modern professional farmers cultivating system, and the new agricultural service system.This paper analyzed the importance function of raising farmer’s scientific literacy for the comprehensive construction socialism new countryside, the well-off society and building a harmonious society. And with the example of Tang He rural scientific literacy survey of Henan province, point to face, to see a large study in small ways analyzing the current status of farmer’s scientific literacy. The results show that, the current Tang He Xian rural farmer’s understanding of scientific knowledge is weak, just understanding of science and technology and society, and science consciousness is weak.The causes are not only the influence of rural farmers themselves, also the influence of social environment and some other external causes. This article analyzed the factors from the rural living environment, way of life, level of education condition and the farmers accept science influencing the peasants’ scientific literacy, and on this basis, put forward the solutions, such as improving the rural environment, strengthening farmer’s contact with the outside world; Clearing the farmer’s main body status, to make full play of farmer’s initiative and enthusiasm; Improving farmer’s scientific literacy of the external environment, form the social environment to improve farmer’s scientific literacy; Establishing and improving the system of relevant countries, fully implement the policies such as a number of the effective ways to improve the farmers’ scientific literacy and advice.
