Analysis Of The Effect Of CICA On Asian Security Cooperation

Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) is a multi-national forum for enhancing cooperation towards promoting peace, security and stability in Asia.After 20 years of development, the CICA has made significant progress:first, expanding coverage to the various sub-regions in Asia, and become the largest regional security dialogue platform. Second, the mechanism for the construction of an increasingly mature, has established Summit,Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, Senior Officials Committee meeting three mechanisms. Third, the legal basis for the CICA has been continuously improved, the Conference adopted the "Almaty File", "CICA Rules of Procedure", "Declaration of Principles on the relationship between the Member States" and "confidence-building measures CICA Catalog" and a series of programmatic documents. From an unknown forum to develop into an important security in Asia Cooperation Dialogue platform, CICA demonstrated a great potential and broad prospects for development, the role of the Pan-Asian regional security forum, as has been highly recognized parties, which strengthen cooperation among countries committed to strengthening the confidence-building measures in Asia to promote the concept of dialogue and cooperation in various countries, creating an atmosphere of trust and collaboration for security cooperation in Asia, and fit the security demands of the current security situation in the region and national needs.
