In recent years, with the continuous development of political democratizationprocess, the government credibility generally received the attention of scholars, whichis the unavoidable question during the transformation period of China in the processof building a harmonious society. Credibility of the government is not only related tothe government’s legitimacy, but also closely related to the public trust. Improve thecredibility of the government is in favor of construction of social credit system, moreconducive to the development of the socialist market economy. Many factors affect the government’s credibility; one of the reasons is theexistence of asymmetry information. But how asymmetry information affects thegovernment credibility? And how to improve the confidence of people caused by theinformation asymmetry? These are the contents of this article. The methods used in the literature analysis are as following: Literature research, case studies and empirical analysis. These studies are to prove the impact ofinformation asymmetry on government credibility. In the last, we make suggestions toimprove the credibility of the government’s by using signaling theory. There are four chapters. The first chapter introduces the research background, thepurpose of the article. And the literature review is also included. At the same time, wepoint out research innovation. This chapter defines the scope of the concept of“government credibility”. And analysis of information economics incentives andsignal transduction mechanisms are theoretical groundwork to later suggestions. The second chapter analyzes the three aspects, the process of policyimplementation, civil servants and information transfer process. It’s about how they impact the government credibility through information asymmetry. This chapterundertakes analysis of the first chapter, and use of asymmetric information theory to adeeper theoretical analysis. The third chapter researches the government credibility by the empirical analysis.Select300samples from N County, Fujian Province. The method is to questionnairesurvey and interview. The analysis conclusion on the one hand confirms thetheoretical findings of Chapter III, on the other hand, it is recommendedcountermeasures pave role to play of Chapter IV.The fourth chapter discusses the measures to enhance the credibility of the localgovernment. Based on Bayes’ theorem and signaling theory, signal screening theoryand empirical assumption from the second chapter and the third chapter, some of theproposed measures are listed.
