Nowadays, the development of society is deeper and deeper. In this way, theamount of identities and roles on each citizen is on the rise. The number of obligationsneeded to be done grows as well. The one-child as well have to undertake kinds ofduties needed by society. When ask people what words would use to describe theone-child, they prefer using selfish, withdraw, misfit, the lack of responsibility and soon. In the mean time, people are seriously doubt the one-child’s ability on fulfillingduties in family and society. Are there any problems with the one-child aboutunderstanding which obligations to bear under different roles? Results tell that the one-child show lots of differences comparing with commonpeople in sense of obligation. Most of them don’t know exactly what to do undercertain identifications, some even don’t realize they have never been juvenilesanymore. In terms of selection between rights and obligations, they are rather thanutilitarianism than altruism. When they have to make a choice between right and duty, with no hesitation, they all choose right. On one hand, with the overdue protectionfrom their family, the one-child even don’t bother to perform their obligations. On theother hand, the public barely have good views towards the one-child, so that theone-child are more reluctant to perform well. With all reasons above, the one-child have no confidence on their behavior, theyalways doubt their views on everything. As a citizen, the one-child are more negativewith public obligations than others. In company, they clearly lack of fiduciary duty, breaking the contract is not a big deal as they say. Being a husband or a wife, one cannot realize it’s his duty to do housework. In order to make up for these negativequalities, one of the most important matter is to improve ways of educating no matterin family or society areas, cultivating their conception of taking obligations. For theone-child themselves, trying hard to gain the initiative to enhance the ability ofperform duties. Adjust the law in moderate degree, encourage the one-child abide bythe law, carry out duties properly, think and behave in scope of law. Not all thingscould be legislated by laws, morals should appear when laws are incompetent. Withall these efforts above, the one-child can adjust their conception about obligationbefore long.
