Women’s liberation, as one of the major parts of china’s revolution, highlightsthe changes of women’s figure and image. In Chinese history, Yan’an period plays avery special and important role. It is an era with the collective memory about Chineserevolution and an era for the China Communist Party to function independently.During Yan’an period, China Communist Party invented systematic developmentmodes in a bold and constructive way, which not only provides samples for socialreform, but also provide experiences for the transition from local administration tonational administration.Many achievements have been made on the study of how China CommunistParty leading in women’s movement and liberation. This paper will focus on women’sliberation in Yan’an period from the body history perspective, and inquire the mold ofwomen’s body and image shaped by the communist party of China in the Yan’anperiod, summarize the characteristics of women’s body and image, then conclude theprofound influence of the mold and reflect the leading role it brings to the Chinesecharacteristics’women pattern the Yan’an pattern.This essay is divided into six parts. The first part, functioning as background andintroduction, mostly reviews the main ideas of China’s Communist Part on women’sbody and image, including the early ideas and practice on women’s liberation and theattempt to discipline women physically in soviet period.The second part mainly deal with the changes of women’s movement during theRectification campaign in Yan’an based on the monthly issued magazine ChineseWomen, through which, we try to show the real situation and main ideas on women’sliberation, re-evaluate the women’s policy before the rectification movement period,explore the early development and practice of the women’s movement in the Yan’an period that may have been masked by history, and discuss the reasons, the process,and the influence it has brought. We hope that through the analysis,the women’smovement would be presented objectively, thus, to display the efforts made by thecommunist party of China.The third part, from the perspective of revolutionary environment facing womenin boarder areas, their duty in revolution and bodily reaction, analyzes how thewomen’s body and image were shaped in border areas with the leadership of thecommunist party of China in line with the revolutionary environment,. In this part, alot of standards and training to women will be showed, like the marriage,revolutionary mobilization, military training, movement in health care and thecollective life, etc. many body history theories are adopted for analysis.The forth part summarizes the women’s images shaped by the communist partyof China, mainly including the female warrior image that rushed to the frontline toprotect and defend our country, the model women that work hardest in labor and thatserve the people whole-heartedly after responding the Party’s call.In the fifth part, in order to excavate the truth image of women’s movementreflected in the literary works in Yan’an period, we take Ding Ling, the well-knownfemale wrtier in Yan’an period who always display the women’s movement throughher works, as an example, combining the historical background of political andcultural movement with her own sufferings, based on the novels and proses publishedduring this period, tracking her changing process from cultural lady to armedgeneral. This part analyses the text under the history background to display thedivergence, conflict and fusion between the women imageshown in Ding Ling’sworks and the expected image of the communist party of China. From thiscomparison, we will discuss the standard and training to the writers and the last visageof women’s body and image.The last part summarizes and further studies the party rights and politicalintention of the communist party of China’s construction process on women’s image,based on that to sum up the standard and training process of women’s body. At last,we try to conclude that it is the standard and training process to women that leads the women body to class stratification, politicalization, mission stratification and toolstratification.
