With the rapid development of science and technology, the scope of the modern battlefield environment become more widely. As a variety of high-tech equipments are included in the preparation of our military system, the requirements of the trainees are also increasing and the price of military training become also more expensive. To meet the needs of future wars, a comprehensive solution to combat the use of equipment and training issues, especially to improve the training of authenticity is proposed. The computer simulation technology can effectively address the cost of the current military training in the face of high security risks, environmental single problem.Through the use of Multigen Creator and Vega and manual map data generation, the present research constructs a virtual battlefield environment based on real data. The employment of LOD and SWITCH technologies contributes to achieving two-dimensional and three-dimensional synchronous mutual response and preliminary three-dimensional interaction and roaming. The current research effort provides meaningful references for the development of simulation training systems in related areas.This thesis builds a 3D virtual battlefield environment which meets the needs of practical training in artillery fire direction VR training system. Such environment is characterized by realistic image, flexible setup of tactical situations, accurate battlefield effectand high simulation precision and strong real-time capability. This training system could be used both for routine artillery training and experimental research of new training courses, thus providing a powerful guarantee for improving training efficiency and effectiveness.In this thesis, the author studies on theory and method has been applied in the "artillery firing command virtual reality training system" in the research and development, has achieved good results, but also for the development of similar artillery training simulation system, a good technical basis. Due to the individual level and the time limit, research content and results of this article have many needs to improve, for example: the dynamic reality of terrain and distribution management, upgrading of the development environment and data connection with superior training system problems, etc., these problems are exposed in the practical development and application of the summary of the problems and the insufficiency, is also the direction of the future continue to work hard.
