In the context of global financial crisis, Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, the representatives of GDP fast growing and maintaining countries, played important roles in world’s economy. After the introduction of the concept of’BRICs’by Goldman Sachs, the addition of South Africa being one of the members enhances the communication and cooperation among these countries. However, though there is a upward trend of quality and quantity of FDI among’BRICs’countries, the deferences in investment legal regulations and the unsuitability of cooperation mechanism within the’BRICs’countries hinder the deeper and wider collaborations.The author starts from taking an macroscopic view of the cooperation, analyzing the overview of the development of’BRICs’countries and the direction of their future cooperation, striving to find out the potential of further collaboration. Thereafter, the legal barriers of forth-coming collaboration are spotted through the combination and connection of different national conditions with various domestic legal regulations. The author proposes the strategies to promote the development of FDI cooperation among’BRICs’countries for benefit of the inspiration derived from the legal regulations of several important international organization. The author also sets out the current conditions of Chinese investment legal regulations, and then corresponding suggestions are given.There are six chapters in this thesis:The first chapter is the introduction of this thesis. The second chapter introduces the overview of the foreign direct investment (FDI) co-operation among the BRICs countries. The third chapter introduces the current situation including the problems in relation to the FDI co-operation among the BRICs countries. The fourth chapter introduces the inspiration brought from certain international organizations to the future investment legislation. The fifth chapter provides the suggestions about how to improve the legislative regulation among the BRICs with regard to their FDI cooperation. The sixth chapter sets out the suggestions offered to Chinese FDI legal regulations in the context of the current cooperation between the BRICs countries. The last part is the conclusion.
