Case Study Of Popularizing Community’s Pension Service In Pixian County

With the increase of the aged population, the problem of the support of the aged brings big challenge to our government and society. The traditional family provision for the aged has wakened gradually due to our country’s transformation of economy and society as well as the change of family condition. However, both the lack of service from the public and private aged care institutions and also the expensive cost make it hard to develop the service of the aged care institutions in a large area. In this case, combining the experience of city aged care mode, the community aged service has gradually formed and developed. The community-based housing service integrates the resources of family, community and society. It mainly focuses on family unit and depends on community. Besides, by using various social powers to provide diverse service to the aged in order to maximally satisfy the age’s multiple requirements. Thus, it can be argued that this way of the aged support is practical.This thesis uses Pixian County’s generalization of community-based aged service as the starting point. Besides, the author utilizes literature review, survey, comparison between home and abroad, and our country’s community-based aged service excellent practical experience to explain the thesis’ arguments.There are eight parts in this thesis. The first section is the introduction, it aims to analyze the necessity of the community-based aged service by combining the experience from home and abroad. The second section is the literature review. Through collecting, organizing and analyzing information, I could have a clear understanding of the related concepts and also the related historical development of the theories. The third part is the description of the case study in Pixian County. With the purpose to introduce this study’s background information, process, measures and the key issues, this thesis draws the typical meaningfulness of this case study. The fourth section aims to analyze Pixian government’s scientific management mechanism and processing mechanism in community-based aged service’s good interaction by using vertically and horizontally methods. The fifth part is the analysis of principles in this service system with the detailed explanation of building of diverse system. The sixth section describes the practical condition in promoting this service and also analyzes the kind of service’s value and advantages. The seventh part gives inspiration and suggestion for future development based on the Pixian’s aged service plan. The final section concludes that the experience and shortcomings of Pixian community-based aged service and also provides future expectation about this case study.
