Ship financial leasing has always been the hot topic for scholars and business world in the recent years. Especially for the past few years, ship financial leasing develops vest fast with the encouragement of our central and local government, under the background of the establishment of free-trade zone, the national strategy for the revitalization of the maritime industry and the development of the twenty-first century Maritime Silk Road jointly with other countries.However, the object of ship financial leasing is ’ship’ and which is under the regulation of maritime laws, which making ship financial leasing different from the general financial leasing. And because of the existence of many specific marine legal systems, the investor’s interests will be influenced by these specific marine legal systems in large extent. But considering that investor stands at the core stage of ship financial leasing, it’s necessary to study how to protect the investor’s interests under ship financial leasing.The whole article will be in three chapters:The first chapter will discuss the business pattern of which the investor will participate in the ship financial leasing and its legal status, or more specifically, the legal status of the bank and the ship financial leasing companies.The second chapter will concentrate firstly on the bank’s legal risks under ship financial leasing, including the common and special legal risks bank will suffer. Then will study ship financial leasing companies’legal risks under ship financial leasing, including the legal risks they will suffer from the seller or builder, the ship charterer and the third party.The third chapter will provide some suggestions for how to protect the investor’s interests under ship financial leasing.
