After the end of the cold war, globalization have been proceeding apace, some dramatic new changes and new trend have taken place in international relations under the background. Important parts of soft power like national image, social system and development mode and so on are playing a more and more important role in the international relations. National image have become a strategic resource and purpose of the competition between countries. Since the end of cold war, the power has made great changes in its characters, content and form of diplomacy are different than before. Public diplomacy with information dissemination and cultural exchange as the main methods, has become a transparent factor as well as the important path of national soft power construction in international relations.National image is not inherent, but gradually formed in the process of the long-term social interaction between countries. Constructivism is the fundamental nature of the national image. Different from inter-government diplomacy and people-to-people diplomacy, governments, transnational corporations and social organizations can take advantage of their subjective initiative better in public diplomacy, mass communication, cultural exchanges, external assistance etc are used by public diplomacy to guide public opinion of other countries and then to shape their own image in other countries.Since the reform and opening up, China has won world wide applause with its fast development in hard power, which is mainly composed of economic and military forces. However, in some countries, including Myanmar, the national image of China has a tendency to be negative in recent years, which is inversely proportional to the strength of China’s rapid growth. In the information era, the value of the media in information dissemination and the public opinion guiding is growing. The content analysis of a media that has great impact upon society will give researchers a glimpse of other countries’ national image in the country. For Myanmar, a new understanding about China seems to have come among the Burmese media and the public, we see a clue of change in that thinking by Myanmar Times. This influential paper has a large objective and fair coverage of China. China’s national image in Myanmar appears some different characteristics than before. China’s national image in Myanmar shows a tendency of the deteriorated. China’s national image as s extremely materialistic, selfish and cultural disconnect are forming in Myanmar.Myanmar has important strategic value for China, the sound and steady growth of the relationship is the important goal of China’s peripheral diplomacy. Facing reality, we must make clear of the causes and further address these issues. We can’t do much about ourselves to address these fears that some Burmese are felling about where China’s rise might lead. None of us can resolve the cognitive differences between the two countries that originates in differences in historical experience, political system and the stage of development. In order to enhance mutual trust and remove misgivings, some public diplomacy like educational and cultural exchanges as well as foreign aid, are taken by Chinese government increasingly. Still, there are many problems in China’s public diplomacy on Myanmar, which influences the desired effect to be realized. From a practical standpoint, refining enterprise diplomacy and cultural diplomacy is our direction. First, more and more Chinese enterprises are going global, the role of multinational companies in China’s public diplomacy will be increasingly important. Business and non-business activities of multinational companies not only shape its companies’image but also shape its home country’s image. The Chinese government and enterprises need to complete three tasks:enhancing the corporation’s social obligation consciousness, standardizing enterprise behavior and instituting the resource sharing mechanism between the Chinese government and enterprises. Second, ordinary people are more susceptible to the influence of emotion and value approval in the process of contacts with others. Another diplomatic means displace cultural diplomacy for its role of osmosis in guiding the public opinion. Diplomacy with cartoon of Japan is useful to us to identify the target of cultural diplomacy in detail and on this basis to create a harmonious blend of seemingly contradictory elements:traditional and modern, internationalization and nationalization.
