Singapore, as a small country, it won a great success in a short period of time, such as the great breakthrough in aspects of economy, politics,science and technology. It also enjoy a position on the international stage that other countries do not have. It is not accidental that Singapore made such a success. Singapore’s success depends on the proper foreign policy—balanced diplomacy.For a long time, the relationship between big powers has formed the essence of the western international relations theory while the small countries have no place in the theory of international relations. With the development of international relations, the status of developing countries in international relations has been continuously improved.Although Singapore is a small country, it has become one of the developed countries with its rapid development, the status is also significantly improved in the international relations. Though the current traditional diplomatic ideas still plays a big role, the theory of international relations should be integrated into some new contents with the change of international situation that works in the great power, the needs of other countries also should be taken into consideration.through th analysis and study of balance of foreign policy of Singapore, hoping to provide some references for other small countries’s foreign policy and promote small countries’s position in international relations theory.On the one hand, Singapore’s balance diplomacy made an intervention from the great powers to the country’s politics and economy.on the other hand, it also maintains a good relationship with major great powers, this also gets more attention from its neighbors. To a certain extent, it reduces the threat to their neighboring countries and maintains the peace and stability in the current region. One of the most important characteristic of Singapore’s balanced diplomacy is to give full play to the role of economy in diplomacy, and this is in agreement with China’s current foreign policy. The rise of China adopt a peaceful manner while the economic diplomacy is the leading part. The study of foreign policy in Singapore can provide valuable experience to China, is conductive to strategic of the"Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road"and the implementation of the Asian infrastructure investment bank.The research content of this paper is mainly divided into several chapters. The first part is about the introduction that mainly describes the Research Significance, research methods, research actuality and other contents.The first chapter mainly studies the related factors that affect Singapore’s foreign policy.The second chapter focuses on the analysis of the implementation of balance diplomacy in the region, and makes a simple evaluation of the effect after the implementation. In the third and fourth chapter, we mainly analyze how Singapore is introduced into the power of the region and how to balance the power of the regional great power. The fifth chapter is the conclusion about characteristics of Singapore balance diplomacy through the analysis of the previous study.The last part is the conclusion of the paper, which affirms the role of Singapore’s balance diplomacy and points out that Singapore’s foreign policy is worth learning from China.
