The fierce social contradictions coerced by class antagonism, the formation of the world market governed by the logic of capital, and the changing relationship between man and nature orientated by the technological rationality, which jointly construct the historical background of Marxist thoughts on ecological economics. The relation between human and nature is dialectical and unified. The essence of this relation is the material exchange whose intermediary is labor. Human is both an“homo economicos” and “ecological man”, thus human labor necessarily possesses a combination of “economics” and “ecology”. The dialectical relationship of man and nature lays the logical starting point of Marxist thoughts on ecological economics. In the capitalist society, man-nature relationship takes on an air of complete alienation, which is characterized by subjugation and vengeance, focusing on human natural power. Private ownership is the form that the individual possesses something material, while consumption alienation is the way that individual uses something material, thus material exchange form in capitalist society is the bondage on human posed by objects. Under the capital exploitation, the alienated labor reflects the degeneration of natural productivity and the distortion of social productivity. In a word, the whole capitalist society is the main critical object of Marxist thoughts on ecological economics. In socialist society and the higher social form, man’s cognition of the objective nature is the foundation of a harmonious relationship between man and nature. What’s more, man respect for nature and nature repays man, which create a harmonious coexistence of man and nature. Public ownership is the form that individual possesses something objects, while recycle is the way that individual uses something objects, thus the material exchange form in socialist society is the freedom to objects gained by man. Under full production, free-labor presents the mutual improvement and unified coordination of natural productivity and social productivity. In brief, the foremost theory of Marxist thoughts on ecological economics is directed by the whole socialist society and the higher social form.
