A Status Study On The Students’ Satisfaction Of Applied Psychology Professional Training

This study was designed from the perspective of student satisfaction, to foundthe problems of undergraduate professional training of Applied Psychology in NUniversity, and try to propose improvement strategies, in order to improve the leveland quality of personnel training. This study used a questionnaire for self "students’satisfaction of Applied Psychology professional training" to research411undergraduate students of N University from2004to2010, and then interviewed onten graduates and five teachers, including an administrator.The study found that the average level of student satisfaction N UniversityApplied Psychology undergraduate professional training is3.04. Each dimensionscores are ranked from high to low: professional teacher satisfaction, teachingmanagement and operation of satisfaction, construction and reform of teachingsatisfaction, satisfaction with teaching conditions and utilization. Dimensions overalldid not reach a satisfactory level (M<4).The students whether engaged in psychologyrelated work there are significant differences in the overall level of satisfaction andthe level of satisfaction with professional teachers; different scholarship frequency,whether graduate school after graduation, whether engaged in psychology relatedwork students there are significant differences in the use of teaching conditions andsatisfaction levels. Different grades of students in overall satisfaction and itsdimensions are significant differences and characteristics are very obvious. Studentsconsidered the most urgent areas for improvement is the teaching staff, includingteachers’ expertise for the most in need of improvement; professional development,laboratory facilities, and professional practice areas all need the most improvement.The author summarizes that Applied Psychology undergraduate professionaltraining in N University exists the following problems: teachers team cultivate isshortage, cultivate direction is relatively vague, training objectives is questionable,curriculum is some of unreasonable, number of training bases is unbalanced,laboratory facilities and equipment is backward and not perfect, library isunderutilized. Based on these, the author proposes the following improvementmeasures: strengthen the construction of professional teaching team, set an appropriate professional training objective, innovative features professional trainingmode, build a reasonable curriculum system, establish a sound professionalinfrastructure equipment, achieve efficient management of teaching.
