The Application Of Social Work In Parent-child Relationship In New Citizen Family

With the rapid development of market economy, more and more rural people go tocities and join in the economic construction. In cities,these people are called newcitizens. For achieving a good environment for their children’s studying and living, newcitizens always taking their children around. While,city life is different from it incountry, high pressure, different customs and so on influence new citizens life andparent-child relationship. Poor parent-child relationship not only causes the contradictionand conflict between parents and children, but also hinder the family positive guidanceand education for their children, even leads children to commit crimes and gives loss toultimately harm social harmony and stability.In order to improve the parent-child relationship in new citizen families,socialworkers try to use the strengths perspective theories to search a new and effective modeof social work. This mode bases on human being and help people help themselves,socialworkers assist both sides of parent-child relationship in new citizen families to rebuildthe goal and admit the membership of their children, strengthen their status, explorenew citizen and their children’s strengths, resilience and abilities to use more externalresource. Through social workers and new citizens,parents and children in new citizenfamilies’ dialogue and cooperation to achieve the goal of their dreaming relationship.The new social work mode of strengths perspective, to improve the parent-childrelationship in new citizen families, believes that the service object has the ability to findthe way of development and promote his/her study and growth.There are mainly four parts in this thesis. The first part includes the basic theory ofparent-child relationship on new citizens and the analysis of it. The second part is thedesigning of a case, primarily including the investigation of the child’s background andhis family, receiving the case, prospecting the mainly problem. The third part is theimplement process of the case.TI’s consist of the case plan, case intervention,assessment, and the process of the settlement. The fourth part is the conclusion andcountermeasures. According to the conclusion of the case, the use of professional socialwork method from the perspective of advantage plays a good role to improve the new citizens family parent-child relationship and therefore putting forward thecountermeasures to improve the new citizens family parent-child relationship.
