The Feasibility Research On The Korfball In Universities Of Nanchang Areas

In the modern society, attentions to the term "culture" are extremely highlighted,especially after the successful holding of18thCPC National Congress, constructing acultural system with socialism characteristic, and setting up Chinese own nationalculture had been carrying out. The rise of cultural studies will necessarily play animportant role in leading the researches on Sports culture. In this sense, it is necessaryto push forward the Korfball development in China because the specific culturereflected by korfball is positive or salutary to be exact, well corresponding to what ishighly advocated during the18thCPC National Congress; meanwhile, having korfballculture widespread in public life via advertisement should also be concerned.By proper methods of disseminating the culture of korfball and having itpopularized, the attitudes of the college students towards this sport item will hopefullytransferred gradually from the initial ignorance or strangeness to the final acceptance,since the development of korfball here in China is just in its beginning stage,especially in Nanchang areas where the general economic situation is primarily not atthe topnotch level in Chinese mainland.In order for the Korfball culture to have a better development in universities ofNanchang area, better promoting its cultural influence that can facilitate a positivecampus culture environments, and can enrich college students`choices of sportactivity, the author thinks it is important to pay attentions to issues of constructing theKorfball Culture, as well as to the researches on the developmental status of korfballin universities and colleges of Nanchang City. By Methods of Field Investigation,Questionnaire, this dissertation discusses the feasibility of promoting Korfball amongfreshmen and sophomores of universities of Nanchang area. Then using Methods ofMathematical Statistics and Logical Analysis to systematically and scientificallyanalyze the data collected during investigation, the author finally makes the followingconclusions.1. The rules and performance features of Korfball are focusing on thecooperation and coordination between players of different genders. Thus, this sporthighly values the importance of Harmony during the game that advocates the equityand the considerations on differentiation between male players and female players.These characteristics of Korfball perfectly correspond to the trend of the socialism culture mainstream in which the promotion of Korfball will, in some degree furtherdevelope and diversify the socialism sport culture.2. Korfball is currently the world`s only sport item that can allow players ofmixed genders competing in a game, according to its rules. This characteristic givesway to a realtively moderate working load during the game, in which fiercecompetition is avoided that participants who want to join in the game do not requirehigh physical-ability. The coexistence of both male and female players on the playground duirng the game needs more cooperation between teammates, in this sense,Korfball has the unique values of competition, recreation, and education in functionthat can somehow satisfy the demands of the college students of Nanchang forphysical exercises. This explains the feasibility of promoting Korfball in theuniversities of Nanchang Area.3. This research indicates that there are three factors that significantly influencethe development of Kofball in Nanchang`s universities, namely gender, grade, andmajor. By analysis on these three factors, it is concluded that three aspects mainlycontribute to the development of Korfball in Nanchang`s universities: the Quality ofthe Physical Exercise, basically reflecting on the frequency and duration of exerciseand the interest that decides the perseverance in keeping it; the Exercise Environment,where a diversified infrastructure for health maintenance can influence new sportitems introduction and promotion; and finally the Objective Demand for Korfball`sdevelopment in Nanchang`s universities.4. Other than the three contributory aspects that influence the development ofKorfball, lack of basic knowledges in Korfball`rules and its playing concepts is eitheran influencing contributor. Meanwhile, investigation shows professional teachers orcoaches for Korfball are in extreme shortage, so are the funds designated for Korfballpromotion. Thus, it is necessary to expand the advertisement on Kofball, makingmore chances for people to experience its interests, establishing a tough foundationfor popularizing such an constructive sport item.
