The core competitiveness of a college depends on its teaching staff, while its development is determined by the overall quality and level of its teachers."Independent college" refers to a kind of higher education for undergraduate programs which are undertaken by the partnerships between the common institutions of undergraduate programs and social forces in a new system and pattern. The development of independent colleges since the last decade has shaped them into an educational force which cannot be ignored. It has made great efforts on creative and innovative school-running mechanism and patterns, thus bringing more vigour and vitality into the reform of overall higher education. However, there are still some problems in the development of independent colleges accounting for their short history; especially, the construction of teaching staff has a direct effect on the professional competence and long-term development of an independent college. In the process of practice, we have found that our teachers are of inadequate enthusiasm, rather instability, shaking certainty and weak identity, and it is largely related to our teachers’ job satisfactions. Teachers play a crucial role in the development of education. Independent colleges have to overcome the difficulties of attracting and retaining teaching talents and establish a teaching team with stability and high quality. And the researches on their teachers’ job satisfactions are very important to the administrators in independent colleges who want to solve the problems mentioned above.Beijing Normal University, Zhuhai is served as a case study on the teachers’ job satisfactions in this research, which is designed to find out the teachers’ job satisfactions in Beijing Normal University, Zhuhai, and thus to analyze the major problems and main causes affecting them so as to provide evidences and references for the policymakers and administrators in independent colleges so that they can realize the current situation. This research is based on the theory of motivation, with the expectation to give our colleges some specific advice on how to improve our teachers’ job satisfactions and how to establish a teaching team with stability and high quality by means of effectively motivational measures.
