ShaoLin boxing is named after ShaoLin Temple. ShaoLin boxing goes and returns straight andpowerfully, so it’s widely welcomed by martial lovers. ShaoLin boxing is closely related with ShaoLintemple whose environment cultivate its culture. It’s better to regard ShaoLin boxing as a culture mergedtogether by boxing and deep meditation rather than a kind of ShaoLin Kungfu. ShaoLin boxing is not onlyone kind of Chinese martial art but also a very good means for ShaoLin monks to do deep meditation. Thus,ShaoLin boxing has its double identities. Every form of ShaoLin boxing has its inner meditation. Too muchemphasis on its form but not its content is only the boxing itself, which does no good to find the meaningbeyond this martial art. The writer of this paper makes use of document literature and logical analysis, andinterprets systematically about the wholeness of ShaoLin boxing and its deep meditation in the aspects ofits practice method, skills and tricks, virtue soon and so forth, in order to make a more comprehensiveanalysis on the deep meditation of ShaoLin boxing, and provide a theoretical basis for the practice andspread of ShaoLin boxing.This paper can be devided into5parts. They are practice method of ShaoLin boxing and its meditation,skills and tricks of ShaoLin boxing and their meditation, actual combat of ShaoLin boxing and itsmeditation, the virtue of ShaoLin boxing and its meditation, and the conclusion.The first part is the practice method of ShaoLin boxing and its meditation. The writer focuses on thedynamic state and static state of the practice method of ShaoLin boxing and their internal relation withmeditation. The practice method of ShaoLin boxing closely relates with its meditation. The practice methodof ShaoLin boxing usually transplant the meditative method into its own means of practice. Everythingchanges in the world, and the classification of dynamic state and static is relative. The practice method ofShaoLin boxing is closely interlinked to the practice of its meditation.The second part is the skills and tricks of ShaoLin boxing and their meditation. The skills and tricks ofShaoLin boxing change variously. No matter how the changes vary, they are based on the same purpose.The writer discusses about the skills and tricks of ShaoLin boxing from their characteristics, and interpretstheir meditation from the root. ShaoLin boxing goes and returns straight. It’s gentle and powerful. There is a variety of ShaoLin weapons, most of which are clubs and cudgels. These show the kindness of Buddhismand the demand of Dhyana sect.The third part is the actual combat of ShaoLin boxing and its meditation. Actual combat is a veryimportant part of ShaoLin boxing. The practice method and the skills of ShaoLin boxing are full ofmeditation, so is the actual combat. Dhyana sect requires a pure heart while practice. Actual combat alsorequires a pure and static heart, only in this way can actual combat becomes easy and free.The fourth part is the virtue of ShaoLin boxing and its meditation. The virtue of ShaoLin boxingmainly shows in its impart and commandment. The writer discusses about the high coherence of the virtueof ShaoLin boxing and its meditation from the aspects of imparting ShaoLin boxing and the commandmentin practice. Virtue is a very important quality of martial art practicers. Dhyana sect seeks to the spirit ofBuddhism, and the pure spirit of Buddhism tells people to give up evil though, and this is in goodcoherence to the commandment of ShaoLin boxing.The fifth part is conclusion. The writer sums up the act of practicing ShaoLin boxing and itsmeditation as a kind of belief. The same approach with different purposes will result in differentconsequences. With the purpose of practicing upper martial art, ShaoLin monks take meditation as the onlyway that must be passed, while those who practice to become Buddha take practicing first position as anindispensible part. However, both of them can be taken as be belief, that is, to become master of martial artor Buddha. Only with belief can people have continuous impetus to achieve their goals.
