Status Quo&Influencing Factors Of Occupation Career Planning Among Nursing Undergraduates Of A University In Shanxi Province

Objective:With the knowledge of Career planning of nursing undergraduates and the issue when making the career plan got by the questionnaire survey from one of Shanxi University, To analysis and then to supply reliable information to the University Career Planning Department.Methods:From November1,2013to November11, By stratified cluster sampling, undergraduate nursing students from grade one to grade five, two classes in each grade. The questionnaire consisted of two parts: general information questionnaire, undergraduate nurses’career planning questionnaire.After the investigation by SPSS17.0statistical software for statistical analysis of data. Statistical methods include descriptive analysis, mean,standard deviation, R×C list of chi square test, Fisher exact test, multi-factor ordinal regression analysis.Results:1.The total score of occupation career planning questionnaire of nursing undergraduates was127.47±16.40, The average marks in its six dimensions were as follows:self-cognition3.82±0.44,occupational exploration3.8±0.67,objective design3.42±0.77, action plan3.43±0.64, interpersonal relation3.55±0.77, and feedback correction3.75±0.64. The highest mark existed in the aspect of self-cognition, and the lowest one in the aspect of objective design. Career planning and poor (score<105points)and32students,8.77%of the total; career planning (score105-139points)257students,70.41%of the total number; better (scoredd≥140points)76students,20.82%of the total. 2. Occupation career planning of nursing undergraduates have no difference in grade, sex, whether or not only children, origin of student, occupation of mother, the relationship with parents, family structure, the reason of select nursing professional, occupational direction, satisfaction of nursing specialty, interests of nursing specialty, but the statistical significance of differences in the following:whether or not served as student leaders, occupation of father, family finances, whether initiatively to contact the hospital to strive for trainee or internship in their spare time, rank of achievement, whether experience in recruitment, whether to take part in or pay attention to nursing skills contest, whether actively finding the teacher talk about college planning, whether to ask graduates employed in different industry for advice or make exchange of idea with them, whether check the employment information through internet, whether actively listening to the lecture about occupation career planning.(p<0.05).3. On the occupation career planning of nursing undergraduates by multivariate Ordinal regression analysis, the factors influencing:served as student leaders, check the employment information through internet, ask graduates employed for advice or make exchange of idea with them, father’s occupation as a medical staff, family finances.Conclusion:1. The total score of occupation career planning questionnaire of nursing undergraduates was127.47±16.40, the worse percentage at8.77%, general at70.41%, the better at20.82%, The status of nursing undergraduates occupation career planning at the medium level.2. The influencing factors for the occupation career planning of nursing undergraduates:served as student leaders, check the employment information through internet, ask graduates employed for advice or make exchange of idea with them, father’s occupation as a medical staff, family finances.
