Many parents began to learn how to be parents after their children were born, they often followed the attitudes and methods of their parents on how to raise children, but it is not the same in nowadays compared with the past.There exists a lot of problems on raising children among our parents, for example:the vast majority of parents believe that early childhood education is to teach children to learn cultural knowledge; there is a high tendency of expectations on young children by parents, who hopes the comprehensive development of them from an early age.Parent education is an effective way to solve these problems.The study focus on the status and demand of parent education of young children, through literature, questionnaire and interview method to achieve it’s goal, find the problems and try to make recommendations for improving the parent education of young children in X city.Research shows that, parent education of young children in X city has the following problems:1.Parent education training is insufficient, and the vast majority of parents are passive members during the training.In parenting process, only when encountered problems, parents realize their own lack of parental knowledge and skills,and think about learning knowledge of parent education.2.Parents of a "knowledge comes first" phenomenon in the content needs prevails.To guide their children’s learning method and promote children’s learning progress has become the first need of the parents. Institutes also cater to this unreasonable demand by parents.3.Agencies who provide activity is not accordant with the needs of the parents.Parent education organized schedule conflicts with parents working hours,or too far away from them.4.Parent education lack the necessary support by social walks. Parent education of young children mainly concentrates in the kindergarten and early childhood training institutions, while our government and social groups rarely participate in. 5.The professional training of personnel needs to be improved.The personnel training of parent education of young children are mainly preschool teachers, during their professional learning period was rarely involved in professional knowledge of parent education.In the study, the suggestions were put forward from three aspects:the education department, the institution and personnel training.To education department:1.Integrate the parental education activities of available resources, and to formulate implementation specification of activities; 2. Establish a positive experience exchange opportunities among training institutions; 3.To actively fight for parent education funds; 4. Perfect the supervision inspection team, and to carry out parent education supervision and appraisal work; 5.Make full use of the mass media, providing parents related information of parent education; 6. Establish parent education specialist human resources network. To institution:l.we should investigate the demand of parents before planning parent education activities; 2. Parent education activity schedule should meet the need of the parents’ time and training personnel’s will; 3.The implementation of the parent education activities should be more diversified; 4. Strengthen parent education course and establish parent education promotion group; 5.Combine with the adjacent related institutional strength, establish the inheritance of experience sharing mechanism; 6.The parent education courses act as a compulsory pre-service course for training personnel. To personnel training:1.Understand the involvement of parents and recommendations; 2.Tell the parents of the essence of parent education activities properly,and encourage them to take an active part in; 3.Adjust the way and content of the activity timely; 4.Strengthen parent education professional development; 5.More professional dialogue and communication among training personnel; 6.Training personnel should be paid attention to the training of parent education concepts, and skills in communicating with parents.
