Objective: To apply theoretical basis for the prevention of dating violence and the intervention of depression among vocational students through studying the characteristic of dating violence and analyzing the association between dating violence and depression.Method: The students of three high vocational college in Anhui province were chosen as research objects through cluster sampling, research objects were asked to finish the questionnaire of health behavior of teenagers, the questionnaire of dating violence and the SDS, then the data needed for research were collected from the questionnaires.Results: 4147 vocational students were investigated and 1442 questionnaires about dating violence and depression were collected. 42.2 percent of the vocational students were involved in dating violence, and 22.8 percent of them were involved in physical violence, 38.0 percent psychological violence, and 6.2% sexual violence. More boys were involved in physical violence and psychological violence than girls(40.2% and 43.4% VS. 15.8% and 35.8%), more students from integrated vocational schools were involved in physical violence and sexual violence than students from engineering and medical vocational schools. The positive rate of physical violence, psychological violence, sexual violence were significantly different between the students of three grades, and the rate of dating violence increases when students were at higher grades. The positive rate of physical violence and sexual violence of single child were higher than non-single child. Students with better or worse economic condition were more involved in physical violence and sexual violence than students with moderate economic condition. Students who were more supervised by pwerents were less involved in physical violence and psychological violence.The total positive rate of depression among the 4147 high vocational students is 55.58%, the positive rate of depression is 55.4% for boys and 55.7% for girls,and there were no significant differences between them. Students of higher grades were less involved in depression. Students with better or worse economic condition were more involved in depression than students with moderate economic condition, students who were less supervised by pwerents and less self-disciplined were more involved in depression than those who were more supervised by pwerents and more self-disciplined. Introvert students and students with higher pressure on study were more involved in depression than extrovert students or students with less pressure on study.The multiple factors logistic models show that the students experienced sexual violence suffer 1.80 fold of hazard of depression than the students never experienced sexual violence.Conclusion: Dating violence is very common among vocational students, the students who once experienced sexual violence should be the focus of intervention.
