For teachers, what is the "meaningful life"? Usually, life experiences, life stages and lifestyles exert direct impact on teachers’ working motivation, status and sense of professional values. On the contrary, teachers’ life experience itself will affect the lifestyles of teachers. Therefore, the core issues or basic tasks of this paper are to explore the problems, such as how teachers feel about their life meaning, its characteristics, and factors that cause it to effect.Obviously, this research belongs to the category of the empirical research. In order to have a profound understanding of the status of teachers’ daily life and their sense of life meaning, this research focuses on case study method. By choosing Y teacher of M primary school as the research object, using the participatory observation, interviews and other research methods to collect the research data, it is intended to study the sense of life meaning of Y teacher in school internal correlation, focusing on the "specific" teachers’ whole career life and studying the problem of teachers’ professional value and meaning.The thesis is made up of five chapters. The first chapter is introduction, interpreting the research background, problems and significance, reviewing the current research, and defining the core concepts of this article. The second chapter introduces the research methods and research process. Firstly, it introduces the school reform of M primary school, outlines the basic situation of case study,and then separately discusses the process of data collecting, sorting and induction, and the role of "I". The third chapter describes Y teacher’s living conditions in detail, from content, time and space distribution of daily life of a structural perspective, presented the role and role cluster relation of Y teachers in the school field, which is intended to analyze Y teacher’s life reality objectively in a more integrated, dynamic, three-dimensional dimension. The fourth chapter analyzes the teaching motivation of Y teacher, focuses on the underlying concepts and motivations and intends to discuss the role and role plexus of Y teacher in the school field. Discussing history, coherent career life trajectory of Y teacher retrospectively under the time coordinate longitudinal, this chapter mainly investigates the underlying concepts and motivations behind to choose to be a teacher. By investigating Y teacher’s positive and negative experience of life, this chapter intends to understand her meaning interpretation on a deeper level. Describing lateral, concrete, current experience of Y teachers’ daily life in detail, it mainly includes experience and awareness in teaching, management and campus recreation, as well as the contradictions and confusion, to get deeper understanding about the essence of life experience or meaning of Y teacher. The fifth chapter mainly discusses those factors affecting teachers’ sense of life meaning. Finally, research conclusions integrity to explore the problems of the teachers’ sense of life meaning universally.This study found that teachers’ daily life is rich and complex, in all kinds of overlapping nested role relationship, which promotes each other sometimes, sometimes conflicting. In different stages of career development, teachers’ life meaning trajectory is not linear, characterized by high and low, ebb and flow of the irregular state.Teachers’ role change, the life state of the important others will impact the sense of teachers’ life meaning. At every stage of life, teacher’s life meaning is always in the struggle between ideal and reality, then moves on. Factors that affect Y teachers’ sense of life meaning are varied. From time and space structure, teachers have multiple roles and a busy daily life structure. On the one hand, this makes teachers feel fulfilled at the same time. On the other, it affects the stability of the sense of its meaning due to fatigue. From the time dimension, personal life history is of far-reaching significance to teachers’ life. Especially for female teachers, fertility, illness, accident, the family and so on may hit the teacher’s personal sense of life meaning. Role identity formation is important for teachers to pursue the life meaning, which is not only guiding personal career development practices, but also promoting the emotional and physical health. In addition, there are some other factors, such as effective support of "significant others" in real life, which serve as important driving force to teachers’ life meaning; Key events and subsequent key effects will lead to different appearance of teachers’ life.
