At home and abroad, there are so many research achievements on management of secondary vocational school. The achievements demonstrate not on the all-round or multi-dimensional, but only from some perspective or dimension. The research achievements on management of secondary vocational schools of Liangshan minority areas are rare. This study takes YW school as a sample, surveys the management situation of YW school, explores the main problems existing, and anatomizes the cause of the reason in ideology, organization, institution, etc. Then accordingly the paper proposes strategy and suggestion for building modern management system of secondary vocational school.This study views of current policy, economic and cultural background in detail. Under the guidance of modern management theory, new public management theory and humanistic theory, this study adopted the method of quantity and quality. First, based on the literature review, coordinate questionnaires with mathematical statistics, investigate the management situation of YW school, and identify the problems existing. Secondly, with the survey data by questionnaires, taking deep research by interviews, telephones, forums and QQ, the paper carries on a further research to analyze the cause of the problems.By analysis, it reveals the disadvantages on management of YW school: construction of system lacks of democracy; cultural management is weak; teaching is weakened; teaching facilities are imperfect; the combination between school and enterprises is vacant seriously; students entrance channel is blocked; regular management level needs to be improved, etc. According to the study, the factors(such as management concept, business philosophy, the framework and the traditional system, etc.) are the main reason causing management is not perfect.The exemplified result shows that some reasonable countermeasures and suggestions on management innovation should be put forward to build modern vocational education system. That’s to say, strengthening the top layer design, to implement the strategic management innovation; starting "staff management", to implement management innovation; managing the school according to the law and regulations, to implement the system management innovation; richening cultural atmosphere, to implement the culture management innovation; highlighting the teaching performance, to implement quality management innovation; promoting growth of students, to implement training management innovation.Conclusion: the overall level of management of YW school is not high, modernization degree is low; innovation is the springhead of building modern management system of secondary vocational schools directly under the government of Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture. Management modernization will be promoted to the connotative sustainable development of YW school by innovative management.
