Research On Cultivating Core Socialist Values In University Students In The New Media Era

On the 18 th National Congress, the Communist Party of China has condensed a 24-word "Core Socialist Values" based on the core socialist value system, and appealed to the whole society to cultivate and practice such values proactively. For university students who serve a key force in socialist construction and in realizing the Chinese Dream, cultivating and practicing the Core Socialist Values will be beneficial to strengthening the leading role of Marxist ideology, enhancing the cohesive force of socialistic ideology, improving China’s cultural soft power, and developing China’s intellectual civilization. Within today’s social context, the new media has already pervaded the economic, political, and cultural aspects of our society, and university students have been playing a major role in using the new media.Current researches allow us to analyze the current situation accurately, to summarize the opportunities and challenges presented, to embrace the its positives while avoid the negatives, to maximize the positive impacts of new media, and to nurture a healthy environment for its cultivation. Hence, in order to enrich our educational resources and to improve the effectiveness of the cultivation of the Core Socialist Values in university students, it is vitally important to analyze the creative development of the current new media, to integrate the educational resources for cultivating the core socialist value, to advance the personnel, the content, the media and the objects of transmission of the core value, and to innovate the approaches and strategies for cultivating the core socialist values.
